We are pleased to announce that Prof. Thomas Luhmann, Professor Emeritus of Photogrammetry at Jade University of Applied Sciences in Oldenburg, Germany, will join PHEDCS 2026 as a Keynote Speaker.
His keynote lecture will be entitled:
High-Accuracy Close-Range Photogrammetry: From Requirements to Systems and Solutions
Prof. Luhmann is an internationally recognized expert in close-range photogrammetry, laser scanning and optical 3D metrology. From 1996 to 2022, he served as Director of the Institute for Applied Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics at Jade University of Applied Sciences. Before entering academia, he worked at Kern/Leica in Switzerland as a project manager and Head of Photogrammetry Research and Development.
He is the principal author of the internationally established textbook Close-Range Photogrammetry and 3D Imaging. His academic and professional career combines fundamental research, technological development, practical applications and education in modern photogrammetry and 3D measurement.
His areas of expertise include close-range photogrammetry, terrestrial laser scanning, UAV-based data acquisition, optical 3D metrology, camera calibration, point-cloud processing, 3D vision and spatial data modelling.
