PHEDCS members participated on the second International forum “GeoBuilding 2018”- Geospatial Solutions for Structural Design, Construction and Maintenance” which was held on 21–23 March 2018 in Novosibirsk, Russian Federation. It was organized by the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin), Construction Association of Novosibirsk Region (CRO ASONO), and exhibition operator “ExpoGEO” LLC.
This event was aimed at the integration of geospatial data obtained by means of advanced electronic and digital measuring tools and techniques (remote sensing), data processing and interpretation with design, construction and maintenance of engineering structures that makes possible to completely switch to 3D, BIM technologies, detailed quality control, to implement the process of transparent construction that will become an important stage to change-over to the new technology level in building industry.
The following themes and topics were:
- Engineering surveys in civil engineering
- Design of engineering structures, civil and industrial buildings
- Construction and maintenance of buildings and structures
- Architecture. Urban planning. General layout
- Urban land management, risk, and emergency management
- Highway engineering
- Contemporary trends in urban studies / urban geography and urban planning
The forum participants have noted the importance of integrating geospatial data obtained using modern electronic and digital measuring instruments into the structural design, construction, and maintenance. Moreover, according to experts, without systematic integration, it is impossible to bring the building complex works and the processes of safe operation of capital construction facilities throughout their life cycle to a qualitatively new level.
